General Questions

  • What is a Repo?

A Repo is a vehicle that has been repossessed by the financer and is then re-sold. All of our inventory will be sold under the rights and remedies available to the seller, such as a secured creditor, insurer, governmental agencies or trustees with respect to a default, recovery, forfeiture, seizure or liquidation, and pursuant to the appropriate act such as the PPSA, Bankruptcy Act, Proceeds of Crime Act, Insurance Act, Mortgage Act or other relevant legislation.

  • Is there a warranty on these repossessed vehicles?

No, there is no warranty or guarantee given or implied. Any and all existing extended warranties that may be in place on the vehicle will be cancelled. An extended warranty is cancelled despite the fact that it may appear at the time of purchase and the warranty company may indicate that the warranty is transferrable.

  • What is an "as is vehicle"?

When you see that a vehicle is call an “as is vehicle” this means it is being sold without any servicing, testing or check-ups. This means that the vehicle could be unfit for driving, not in road worthy condition, or in some other questionable condition. The vehicles are sold “as-is” and therefore, they are not serviced to any mechanical or working order standards. These vehicles are not mechanically sound and have not been maintained at any guaranteed level of quality. These vehicles may not be fit for use as a means of transportation and may require substantial repairs at the purchaser's expense and discretion. It may not be possible to register the vehicle to be driven in its current condition upon purchase.

  • Can I, or my mechanic, look at the car/boat/RV I'm interested in before I place a bid?

Yes, all units can be started and visually inspected before a bid is placed. In fact, we recommend all customers go to the sales facility to inspect any vehicle, or recreational products before placing a bid.

  • Can I test drive the vehicle I'm interested in?

Unfortunately, no, you are not permitted to test drive a repossessed vehicle. These vehicles can only leave the lot once they have been purchased.

  • Where is the vehicle stored?

All units are kept at a licensed RepoDepo sales facility. To see a list of RepoDepo locations visit the contact us page or click here.

Bidding Questions

  • What is the "available for sale date"?

All vehicles are being sold under statute, whether it be the PPSA, Bankruptcy Act, the Proceeds of Crime Act, the Insurance Act, the Mortgage Act, ad/or other relevant legislation/regulation. When a vehicle is listed, a predetermined legal sale date is set. This date is the earliest a vehicle can be offered for sale.

  • Why can't I bid on some vehicles that are marked available?

Some RepoDepo sales facilities only hold live auctions, which means you'll need to place your bid in person. These live auctions are held on a scheduled date and you may only place a bid at this time.

  • How can I place a bid on a repossessed vehicle or recreational product?

The vendor sales facilities that RepoDepo works with hold auctions. These are auctions where consumers and dealers bid on vehicles. The bidding process is different at every auction, so make sure to contact the sales facilities to learn the ins and outs of the auction you're visiting.

If you need additional help before making a bid our customer service team can help you through the process and answer any questions you have. Contact our customer service team at 1.844.611.REPO (7376) between the hours of 9:00 a.m. EST to 5:00 p.m. EST Monday to Friday.

Payment Questions

  • Does RepoDepo offer financing on these vehicles?

No, RepoDepo doesn't offer financing. We recommend you arrange financing from the lender of your choice in advance of placing a bid.

  • How do I get my vehicle if I'm the highest bidder and I've paid?

Our sales facilities have a lot of experience in helping to arrange the delivery of new vehicles. Once you've purchased the vehicle, it is your responsibility to arrange delivery with the sales facility. Please contact the facility to discuss taking ownership and the rest of the delivery process.

  • Are taxes payable on the purchase of a vehicle from RepoDepo?

Yes, taxes are applicable and vary by province. Please contact a member of our customer service team or the selling facility directly to confirm the amount you will owe in taxes.

  • Can I buy a repossessed vehicle or recreational product from out of province?

Yes, you can! When you purchase a vehicle from out of province you must ensure the vehicle has been registered in your own province before you drive it. We recommend contacting the sales facility and your provincial motor vehicle ministry to fully understand all requirements before you place a bid on an out of province vehicle.
